Detailed print of my original painting titled "What Lies Ahead"

This painting is inspired by the events following Palm Sunday. In the scriptures, we learn that Jesus entered the temple in Jerusalem and found that it had been turned into a marketplace where people were buying, selling, and exchanging money. Wanting the temple to be a sacred house of prayer, Jesus overturned the tables and told them to leave.

After cleansing the temple, Jesus remained there — teaching the people and healing the blind and the lame. The chief priests and scribes were angered by Christ’s actions and influence over the people, which set the stage for the growing opposition that would lead to His arrest and crucifixion.

I wanted this painting to depict Jesus leaving the temple after a day of teaching and healing. I imagine a lot of emotions were going through His head as He looked over Jerusalem, knowing what lay ahead.

I think we all feel anxious at times, and I can imagine that was an emotion Christ felt as He prepared for the last week of His mortal ministry. I wanted this painting to feel grounding & peaceful, and remind us that when we have anxiety and worries about what lies ahead, we can turn to Christ to stay grounded in the present moment.

    FAQs

    Do your prints come framed?

Regular prints do not come framed!

If you want to skip the stress of finding a frame for your artwork, I recommend picking a canvas or framed canvas print instead of a paper print.

My favorite places to shop for frames are thrift stores, Hobby Lobby, and Target!

When should I expect to receive my order?

Regular production time is 1-4 business days, and 1-4 additional business days for shipping through USPS. As a small business, I do my best to get orders out as quickly as possible! During sales or busier seasons, orders may take additional time to ship. Thank you in advance for shopping small & being patient!

Canvas (framed and unframed) and Large Format Print Orders (16x20 or larger) will arrive in 1-2 weeks. These orders are printed just for you through another small business we work with, so production times are a few days longer than regular orders.

If you need your order by a certain date, shoot me an email (kenna@kennaelizabethart.com) and I'll do my best to get it to you by that date.

    Do you ship internationally?

I am not currently able to ship internationally through my website, but international shipping is available through my Etsy Shop!

A few things to keep in mind:

    • Shipping addresses can be changed as long as the package has not been shipped
    • Orders can be cancelled as long as it has not been shipped.
    • Discount codes can only be applied if the sale is still active. If the sale has passed, I won't be able to apply the code to your order!

    Do you take custom orders?

I do not currently accept custom orders! Custom work is not my strength, so I prefer to focus on creating paintings that resonate more deeply with me and a wider audience.

Here are a few artists I recommend for custom work:

    Mikkele (@facelessbymikkele)

    Bree Copley (@watercolorsbybree)

    Nicole (@rndillustrations)

    Hanna (@hereiambooks)

    Kadee (@bykadeediane)

You can also find custom artists through Etsy by searching for the type of custom painting you are looking for!
